Bernard Estardy – Ala Mia Thra (1969)

Whoa!
This is crazy good.
Just stumbled upon “La Formule Du Baron” by French composer Bernard Estardy.
This album was his spare time project and he recorded it during lunch breaks in between all the jobs he did at studie CBE as a producer, engineer and arranger for a variety of artists, such as Françoise Hardy, Lee Hazlewood and Claude François.

The first six tracks – the original A-side – is considerably more consistent than the rest
but the high quality of production of the full album is incredibly for it’s time.

The album was re-released in 2000 on vinyl and CD by label Dare-Dare and again in 2011 on vinyl only by French label Vadim Music which apparently specializes in re-releases of rare and cult albums.

You can listen to the full album via this Youtube playlist or on Spotify – which I recommend that you do :)

Even the re-release of the album is a bit hard to come by, but I have a copy in the mail from Japan via Amazon.
