Berry Lipman & His Orchestra – The Girls From Paramaribo (1974)

German composer Friedel Berlipp aka Berry Lipman has penned this totally upbeat scat melody.

The track is from the an ultra rare German Citroën promo release Happy Sound for Citroën Drivers which isn’t even listed on Discogs.com.

The track can also be found on the 1974 release The Most Beautiful Girls In The World and most likely this is the exact same recording.

Happy driving – and be safe out there.

The Harry Roche Constellation – Lay Lady Lay (1973)

Extremely laid back yet swinging version of the Dylan classic with a very nice electric piano rif and lots of quiet brass.

Harry Roche Constellation consisted of some of the leading session players of the period, as well as course of Harry Roche himself who was a former military bandsman playing a lot of easy jazz in the 1960s

This track is from the release Spiral, which is quite sought after and expensive.
I have got myself a copy, of course :)

Orchester Maurice Pop – Patatas Fritas (1970)

One hell of a happy track from Maurice Pop aka Manuel Riga aka Shorty Malden aka Fritz Maldener – a German jazz pianist, composer and arranger.

This versatile guy has done a lot of stuff – apparently also tracks for German porn movies in the 1970s.

This track is from his release “Play Together“.

Bert Kaempfert – Grey Eyes Make Me Blue (1971)

From brass master Bert Kaempfert comes this wonderful big band jazzy gem.
Enjoy the slow drums, brass section, piano and of course Kaempfert himself on trumpet.

This track is from his 1971 release “Bert Kaempfert Now!“.

Pinto Varez – Blanquita (1968)

Great mariachi style trumpet track from Pinto Varez backed up by a Hammond organ.
This version is from the release “Motivi Al Volante“, but another slightly longer version is to be found on the release “Siesta” from 1969.
